Why it works

Your eyes capture light. Your brain builds the picture.

As the eye's lens stiffens with age, near text takes more effort. That lens change is physical, and no app reverses it. But detecting faint contrast, recognizing crowded letters, and reading fluently are skills your visual cortex performs, and adults can still improve on practiced visual tasks. Get Visionary trains those skills.

What training does not do

It does not soften the lens, cure presbyopia, treat eye disease, or replace glasses and professional eye care.

What you practice

Detail and contrast, reading and recognition, visual speed and search, and eye movement and awareness.

Step 1

Tell us what is getting harder

A rapid interactive check and three short questions set your starting levels for contrast, speed, reading, and stamina.

Step 2

Train for about three minutes

Each session is 12 focused rounds. Difficulty adapts to your answers, so it stays challenging without becoming frustrating.

Step 3

See your progress, honestly

Track accuracy session by session and earn milestone stars when your estimate improves. The app tells you what a result means, and what it does not.

What you practice

15 exercises. Four visual skill areas. One next step.

You never have to choose from a pile. The plan recommends one exercise at a time and explains why.

Detail and contrast

Orientation, contrast detection, and spatial-frequency tasks using Gabor patches.

Reading and recognition

Letters, scripts, shapes, words, and sentences at sizes and contrasts that adapt to you.

Speed and search

Speed challenges, visual search, and blur resistance for quicker, more comfortable scanning.

Eye movement and awareness

Smooth pursuit, serial search, and peripheral awareness for steadier, wider attention.

The research

Inspired by published research. Explained without hype.

Get Visionary is informed by peer-reviewed studies in visual perceptual learning. Those studies do not endorse the app or guarantee the same result.

Participants who practiced contrast detection with Gabor targets improved on several near-vision measures, including reading speed, while the eye's optics did not change. The authors interpreted the gains as perceptual, not optical.

Why we say inspired, not proven

  • The study was small, participants were not randomly assigned, and only three people formed the no-practice control group.
  • The protocol was intensive, not a few minutes for a few days.
  • It tested a laboratory protocol, not Get Visionary. The app itself has not been clinically tested.

Every exercise opens with the evidence

Inside the app, each exercise explains what it trains, what published research found, and your own history, with the limitations stated next to the result.

The Vision Access Pledge

Vision is too important to be gated by cost.

"I've dealt with near-vision changes myself, and I know what money stress feels like. If cost is a barrier for you right now, we'll give you a full year free. No questions asked."

Questions

Straight answers

Is this just another eye exercise app?

No. Get Visionary does not claim to strengthen eye muscles or reverse lens aging. It uses adaptive visual tasks informed by perceptual-learning research to practice detail, contrast, recognition, and visual speed, the processing skills your brain uses when you read.

Will I be able to stop wearing reading glasses?

We do not promise that. Presbyopia is a physical change in the eye's lens, and no app reverses it. Training targets visual processing skills, and responses vary by person, task, and consistency. Keep your glasses and your regular eye exams.

How long before I notice anything?

It varies, and we do not promise a timeline. The most cited research protocol used about 37 half-hour sessions over three months. The app shows your accuracy session by session and explains what each result means.

What is free and what is paid?

Free members get one adaptive training session every day. Premium unlocks all 15 exercises, your full personalized plan, and progress history. The annual plan includes a 7-day free trial. The App Store shows localized price, trial length, and renewal terms before you confirm, and you can cancel anytime in your Apple ID subscription settings.

Is it safe? Who should not use it?

Get Visionary is a wellness and visual-performance training app, not a medical device, test, or treatment. It does not diagnose or treat eye conditions and does not replace eye exams. Stop and seek professional advice if you notice concerning symptoms or a sudden change in vision, and talk to your eye-care professional first if you have an eye disease or a history of seizures.

What happens to my data?

Your training results are stored privately in your own account, are never sold, and can be deleted with your account at any time from inside the app. Read the privacy policy for the full picture.
